About This Work
"Yesterday's News" is a reflective and cautionary lyric about self-examination, accountability, and the choices that ultimately shape a life. Through imagery of passing days, restless nights, and a soul searching for direction, the song wrestles with questions of purpose, faith, mortality, and personal responsibility.
At its core, the work serves as both confession and invitation. Rather than dwelling on regret, the lyric encourages listeners to honestly evaluate their lives, learn from their mistakes, and embrace the opportunity for change while time remains. Yesterday's News reminds us that every day offers a chance to choose a different path and become a better version of ourselves.

Lyrics
I found my soul in yesterday’s news
It gave good cause to sing the blues
Because it is day and the day is bright
And I am overwhelmed with fright
For with the day comes the night
And with the latter my soul gives flight
It soars to heaven before the day
To beg the Lord so I can stay.
The Lord grants life but only a loan
And tells the sinners He will condone
But if there is something I have
learned
A life of sin is less than stern
But if God is there you’re to burn
So pick your path and avoid the urn
Do not release your soul to air
Think of the Devil who does not care.
The sun has risen and it is day now
My soul has returned but again will go
out
I ponder my life and what I have done
And am quick to conclude it wasn’t
much fun
I must make some changes there’s
nowhere to run
Or else my family will lose their
damned son
So look at your life and learn from the
clues
So you won’t find your soul in
yesterday’s news.
